We are looking for a passionate and guest focused Security Manager to join our incredible team at The Kensington. You show confidence, empathy and professionalism when dealing with guests and team alike. You are knowledgeable in all security and safety standard operating procedures and fully trained in the hotel emergency, crisis procedures and evacuation protocols. You are calm under pressure and are dedicated to providing exceptional care while demonstrating great pride and attention to detail in your work.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate, check and monitor the CCTV system
  • Patrol the hotel on a regular basis ensuring fire walks take place and are recorded
  • Ensure safe passage of cash transfers within the hotel
  • Support investigation and evacuation of the hotel during fire alarm situations
  • Ensure hotel facilities and function rooms remain secure and locked when not in use
  • Investigate and report all allegations of theft, criminal damage and other incidents
  • Ensure that any property reported lost on the premises is correctly recorded and enquiries made to trace and restore it.
  • Carry out regular bag and locker searches, on a monthly basis or as instructed by the Hotel Manager, General Manager or People & Culture Manager.
  • To liaise with other departments on matters of security and safety and deliver efficient internal customer service, while maintaining professional standards.
  • Ensure administrative duties are carried out according to the company standard. This includes maintaining accurate logs and records.
  • Ensure any items being removed from the Hotel are checked, pass-outs are processed correctly, with any discrepancies referred and/or any items withheld as deemed appropriate.
  • Be an active participant in Business Continuity Plan meetings and write SOPs/BCP’s where needed.
  • Provide support during events based on Food and Beverage managers direction.
  • Be part of the Health and Safety committee
  • To report and inform HODs of any hazards to safety that comes to your notice
  • Manage undesirable behaviours in a professional manner, intervening and defusing potential altercations.
  • To attend meetings and training sessions as required by hotel management.
  • Contribute to always maintaining an excellent level of service in conjunction with the requirement of the LQA and Forbes standards.
    The role involves shift work which includes any combination of five days, including weekends, evenings and nights.
