    JOB DESCRIPTION:      JOB TITLE Security Monitor 2nd PROGRAM Refugio Unaccompanied Children Shelter REPORTS TO Program Director SALARY  $22.15 LOCATION  San Benito, TX JOB TYPE Full-Time WORK SCHEDULE Five Days per week, 40 Hours per week, 12 Months per year     General Description The Security Monitor position provides a system of accountability and continuous supervision of the site population by monitoring all camera(s) on-site. Reports any outages in the surveillance videos. Reports anything suspicious, anything that violates policies and procedures that may cause harm to someone else and ensures the safety of all children and staff.    ABOUT YOU The ideal candidate for our program is a self-motivated and dedicated person who is excited and passionate about helping children, staff, and external stakeholders.   You are also a personable, energetic, and empathetic person who can manage multiple projects in a prioritized manner to meet our internal Urban Strategies goals.     You have the following Competencies:  * Ability to provide guidance and support to staff. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  * Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.  * Adapt to unexpected circumstances, think critically and is resourceful. * Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.  * Adapt to frequent changes and bring new ideas and innovations to the workplace.  * Foster a harmonious work environment and find mutually beneficial resolutions that promote teamwork.       Minimum Qualifications Education: Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent  Experience: One year of experience working with youths or similar environment  Competencies:Professional: Diversity, Conflict Management, Communication, Proactivity, Multi-task  Organizational: Leadership, Teamwork, Community Approach    Skills: Office 0365; Bilingual (English – Spanish)  Other: Driver’s License; Flexible Schedule     Other employment requirements include the following:  * Criminal Background check * National Sex Offender check * TB Test           WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING * PROVIDES SECURITY MONITORING. * MAINTAINS SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS AND ENSURES THEY ARE RECORDED AT ALL TIMES. * ENSURES CORRECT DATES AND TIMES ARE RECORDED ON THE SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS. * MAY PROVIDE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF UAC AND ENSURE THEY MAINTAIN LINE-OF-SIGHT AT ALL TIMES. * COMMUNICATES FREQUENTLY WITH A SHIFT SUPERVISOR. * ASSISTS DURING TRANSITION AND MOVEMENT OF CHILDREN FROM ONE ACTIVITY TO THE NEXT AND ONE PHYSICALLOCATION TO ANOTHER DEPENDING ON THE DEPARTMENT ASSIGNED. * PARTICIPATES IN ONGOING MEETINGS, CONFERENCES, AND TRAINING PROGRAMS AS REQUIRED. * PROVIDES COVERAGE FOR ASSIGNED STAFF WHEN NEEDED. * RESPONSIBLE FOR ADHERING TO ALL URBAN STRATEGIES, CONTRACT AGENCIES, AND OTHER STATE REGULATIONS. * PERFORMS DUTIES IN A SAFE MANNER. * FOLLOWS THE CORPORATE SAFETY POLICY. * PARTICIPATES IN AND SUPPORTS SAFETY MEETINGS, TRAINING, AND GOALS. * ENSURES SAFE OPERATING CONDITIONS WITHIN THE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY. * MAINTAINS A CLEAN AND ORDERLY WORK AREA. * OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY SUPERVISOR. * EVACUATES SITE WITH SHORT NOTICE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY * MUST BE ABLE TO ASSIST IN EVACUATION DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER THREAT (I.E., HURRICANES, FLOODING,ETC.)  * ADHERES TO URBAN STRATEGIES, ORR AND STATE REGULATIONS, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES. * PERFORMS DUTIES IN A SAFE MANNER.          ABOUT URBAN STRATEGIES Urban Strategies exists to equip, resource and connect faith- and community-based organizations so that all children and families can reach their full potential.
