Job Description As a Security Officer Armed Government Patrol in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will conduct routine patrols and maintain a strong presence at a government location, helping to deter security-related incidents and provide peace of mind to those on site. This armed position involves interacting with the public, supporting a secure environment, and responding promptly to incidents. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeMon06:00 AM - 06:00 PMThur06:00 AM - 06:00 PMFri06:00 AM - 06:00 PM What You’ll Do: Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise Responsibilities: Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies while providing customer service to individuals at government locations. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, taking appropriate action as needed. Perform regular and random patrols within the facility and along the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity. Act as a visible presence at the location to help to deter potential disruptions and/or criminal activity. Maintain awareness of surroundings and communicate with Allied Universal management regarding any security-related concerns or observations. Assist with emergency response activities in accordance with established protocols and guidelines for the site. What We’re Looking For: Availability across various days and shifts Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available Minimum Requirements: Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience. Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
