As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government corrections location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to reports, support staff and visitors with clear communication, and document observations and actions. What You'll Do: Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government corrections location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access, contraband activity, and other policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by post. Control access at designated posts by verifying identification and/or authorization, monitoring entry and exit points, and screening vehicles, packages, and deliveries in accordance with site requirements. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with on-site staff, providing clear radio communications, and supporting controlled movement and/or accountability when directed. Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports, preserve observations and available evidence for follow-up, and maintain assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site guidelines. Minimum Requirements: Be at least 21 years of age. An armed guard card and/or license is preferred. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
