About the role
Title – Security Officer
Pay Rate – £16.65
Location – Covent Garden
Shift Timings – Day and nights, 4 on 4 off, 42 hours per week with an opportunity of overtime

Responsibilities

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Preventing intruders from entering restricted areas
· Ensuring the safety of all staff and visitors on site
· Protecting the property from damage
· Preventing and deterring theft on site
· Dealing with the visitors ensuring world class customer service
· Dealing with disgruntled visitors in a professional manner.
· To be punctual and professional always
· Excellent grooming standards to be always maintained
· Work successfully as part of a team
· Securing all types of events on site
· Complying with Martyn’s Law.
· Assist the security manager to ensure compliance with all internal/external audits
· Document management in line with GDPR requirements
· Immediate response and control of emergencies on site including evacuations, lockdowns, invacuation and dispersal.
· Operating the client’s CCTV and access control systems in line with codes of practice
· To attend Magistrates or Crown court as a witness when required

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:

  • SIA Door Supervisor License
  • SIA CCTV Licence
    · Proven experience in a hospitality, bar, or event-based security role
    · Excellent verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
    · Calm under pressure with a strong ability to defuse tense situations
    · Smart, professional appearance with a customer-focused attitude
    · Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
    · Knowledge of venue safety procedures, including evacuation and incident response
    · Familiarity with CCTV systems and access control technologies
    · First Aid qualification (e.g., Emergency First Aid at Work)
    · Experience working in a premium brand or flagship venue environment
    · Understanding of licensing laws and alcohol-related security responsibilities
