  PURPOSE OF THE JOB:  Provide security services for patients, visitors and staff throughout the hospital, clinics and administrative facility.   QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma or GED.   2. Ability to successfully complete and maintain CPR certification.    3. Security experience preferred.   4. Documented experience and training in physical restraining combative individuals using a minimum of force or successfully complete before first sole duty.   5. Valid State of Alaska driver’s license required.   6. Demonstrated ability to tactfully and successfully interact with the public in a cross-cultural setting.  Must be physically fit (job requirements: heavy lifting, possible physical restraining violent individuals).  Yupik fluency is desirable.  Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to the privacy act.   This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span (e.g. pediatric/adult/geriatric) and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the assigned unit’s policies and procedures.
