About the role: MSS Security is seeking a professional security officer for a casual role at the Federal Court in Cairns. Officers may be required to manage situations involving challenging behaviours in high-stress environments. The role is a Monday to Friday position. Duties include but are not limited to: Collaborating with court staff and law enforcement to manage high-risk situations. Responding quickly and appropriately to incidents involving disruptive or aggressive behaviour. Ensuring the safety and security of both visitors and staff within the court environment. Screening individuals entering the court building and ensuring compliance with all security protocols. Monitoring and overseeing courtroom security during hearings. What will make you stand out for this role? The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: Previous experience in a customer facing role. Strong communication skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations. Professional attitude and high standard of personal presentation. Confidence, assertiveness, and the ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
