Description Status Hours: Casual Part-Time 12 Hours/Week Job Summary: The Security Officer (Unarmed) is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, and property at Cary Medical Center. This position provides protective services through patrol, monitoring, response to incidents, enforcement of hospital policies, and assistance during emergencies. The Security Officer supports the hospital's Environment of Care, Life Safety, Emergency Management, and Workplace Violence Prevention programs. Essential Job Duties: 1. Patrol hospital buildings, grounds, and parking lots to ensure safety and security. 2. Monitor security cameras, alarms, access control systems, and fire/life safety systems. 3. Respond promptly to calls for assistance, disturbances, suspicious activity, and emergency situations. 4. Enforce hospital policies related to safety, security, parking, visitor access, and restricted areas. 5. Assist with de-escalation of disruptive individuals using approved crisis intervention techniques 6. Provide assistance during medical emergencies as directed by clinical staff. 7. Respond to fire alarms, hazardous material incidents, and disaster situations in accordance with hospital emergency procedures. 8. Complete incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation accurately and timely. 9. Control access to the facility, including visitor screening and badge verification when required. 10. Assist with patient watches, behavioral health monitoring, and elopement precautions as assigned. 11. Provide escorts for staff, patients, and visitors when requested. 12. Assist with parking enforcement and traffic control on hospital property. 13. Support drills, training exercises, and emergency preparedness activities. 14. Maintain confidentiality of all patient and hospital information in accordance with HIP AA regulations. 15. Perform other duties as assigned 16. Comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Requirements Licenses and Education: 1. Law Enforcement experience preferred 2. Valid Maine Driver's License 3.
