We’re looking for compassionate, dependable Security Officers who can balance professionalism with empathy. In this role, you’ll help maintain a secure facility while treating every client, visitor, volunteer, and staff member with dignity and respect. You’ll be a visible presence throughout the shelter, helping prevent conflicts, responding to incidents, and supporting a calm and orderly environment. What You’ll Do Help maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors. Monitor entrances, conduct routine facility rounds, and observe daily activities. Respond to incidents using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed practices. Enforce facility policies fairly, consistently, and respectfully. Complete incident reports and communicate important information to supervisors and teammates. Work collaboratively with shelter staff to support client safety and well-being. Contact emergency services or law enforcement when necessary. What We’re Looking For Strong communication and conflict resolution skills. Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations. Dependable, professional, and accountable. Comfortable working evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Previous security, military, law enforcement, corrections, or customer service experience is preferred but not required. Requirements License and Certification: Security license G (Required) Skills and Qualifications: Strong verbal and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple tasks Knowledge of security operations and procedures Ability to follow complex instructions Ability to maintain emotional control Ability to deal with uncertainty Ability to use good judgement Knowledge of surveillance skills Work Environment: General office environment with standard accessible office equipment.
