Job Description As a Security Officer - Education Reception Entry in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Front Desk professional with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will be the first point of contact, greeting visitors and assisting with access control and badge procedures. Your presence helps to deter security-related incidents and fosters a welcoming environment for students, staff, and guests. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $16.25 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeMon03:00 PM - 11:00 PMFri03:00 PM - 11:00 PMSat03:00 PM - 11:00 PMSun03:00 PM - 11:00 PM What You’ll Do: Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise Responsibilities: Provide excellent customer service to all visitors, students, and staff by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the front desk of the location. Monitor access to the building by verifying identification and/or credentials of individuals entering the premises. Respond to incidents and critical situations at the front desk in a calm and problem-solving manner, following established protocols. Maintain detailed and accurate records of visitor logs, incidents, and/or other security-related activities as required by site procedures. Communicate promptly and professionally with Allied Universal management, site staff, and/or emergency responders as needed. Assist in helping to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity by maintaining a visible presence at the front desk. Support emergency response activities when appropriate, in accordance with site-specific policies and Allied Universal guidelines. What We’re Looking For: Availability across various days and shifts Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age. Customer service experience is preferred. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
