As a Security Officer Flex Upscale Waterfront Shops in Newport Beach, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $23.00 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeMon04:00 PM - 12:30 AM How This Role Works: Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities: Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observations and actions according to site guidelines. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns. Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas, assist with directional support and crowd-related concerns, and report maintenance, lighting, and/or property issues to the appropriate contacts. Support loss prevention awareness by observing suspicious behavior, reporting policy violations, and assisting with de-escalation during customer and/or visitor interactions when needed. Minimum Requirements: Have at least 1 year of security-related experience. Be at least 21 years of age. Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
