Wellfound is hiring a full time day Security Officer to join our team. This position is a .9 FTE, three 12 hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 7 am - 7:30 pm. Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Tacoma, Washington. We are Department of Health and Joint Commission accredited. We are an acute care psychiatric hospital providing care to both voluntary and involuntary patients. Position: Our Security Officers provide a safe and secure environment for the patients, visitors, staff and property of Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital. We are looking for staff with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work with diverse populations and able to handle demanding and stressful situations. This position requires officers be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and participate in de-escalation with the guidance of clinical staff. We offer competitive pay and benefits: * Hourly: $20.69 - $30.91 depending on security experience * Hourly Shift Differentials: Night $2.00, Weekends $1.25 * Great benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Supplemental Life Insurance eligible the first of the month following 30 days of hire. * Employee Assistance Program up on hire * 403B with discretionary match for those that participate in the plan and meet work requirements * Paid Time Off - You will accrue Paid Sick and Safe Leave at 1 hour per 40 hours worked. Paid Sick leave cannot be used until 90 days after your hire date. * Paid Time Off will be accrued based on hours worked and tenure. You will accrue 0.12 hours of PTO per hours worked until you reach the next level of accrual. PTO cannot be used until 90 days after your hire date with the exception of designated Wellfound holidays. . What We Require Education: High School or equivalent Certification: Heart Saver or Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross required to start Experience: One year security experience working in healthcare setting preferred. Mental Health Tech or other behavioral health experience will be considered in lieu of security experience.

Responsibilities

Security Officers are responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and the property of the Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital. This includes being able to stand and walk for extended periods and participating in de-escalation efforts under clinical staff guidance.
