Recruiting for : Security Officer
Location: Belfast City Centre ( Northern Ireland Housing Executive)
Contracted Hours: 53 hours per week
Days worked : Mon-Friday
Pay Rate: £12.60 per hour
G4S is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team at The Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) , ensuring the safety and security of our premises and personnel within the heart of Belfast City Centre. This is a vital role in maintaining a secure environment for our operations and the community we serve.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • SIA Licence (Door Supervision and/or Security Guarding) is essential.
  • Previous experience in a security role, preferably within a corporate or public sector environment.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Excellent observational and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Proficiency in written English for accurate report writing.
  • Basic IT skills for operating security systems and completing digital logs.
  • First Aid certification is desirable.
  • Excellent customer service skills
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct regular patrols of NIHE properties and surrounding areas in Belfast City Centre.
  • Monitor CCTV systems and alarms, promptly reporting and responding to any suspicious activity or incidents.
  • Control access to buildings, verifying identification and maintaining accurate visitor logs.
  • Respond to security breaches, alarms, and emergency situations in accordance with established procedures.
  • De-escalate situations involving challenging individuals and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and daily logs of all security-related activities.
  • Collaborate with local authoirites and emergency services as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all security policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Provide assistance and information to staff and visitors as needed.
