JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officers to join our team at a prestigious project in Aldermaston. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for car park management duties, enforcing security protocols and guiding visitors and contractors to the correct locations around the project.

Responsibilities
  1. Access Control
  • Verify vehicle access authorisation against issued passes or pre-approved lists.
  • Check ID badges of all drivers and passengers.
  • Challenge unauthorised or suspicious vehicles immediately and follow escalation protocols.
  • Operate automatic barriers, bollards, and gate systems.
  1. Vehicle & Personnel Searches
  • Conduct random or scheduled vehicle searches, including undercarriage mirrors or scanners.
  • Search contents of vehicles, following security SOPs.
  • Check for prohibited items (e.g. cameras, recording equipment, contraband).
  1. Surveillance & Monitoring
  • Monitor the car park and entrance routes using CCTV systems.
  • Patrol car parks on foot or vehicle to deter suspicious activity or unauthorised access.
  • Report and log any security breaches, trespassing, or anomalies.
  1. Traffic Management
  • Direct vehicle flow, especially during peak hours, events, or emergencies.
  • Manage delivery and contractor vehicles to ensure proper routing.
  • Maintain clear access routes for emergency services.
  1. Visitor & Contractor Coordination
  • Assist with visitor vehicle registration and access.
  • Escort or direct contractors to appropriate check-in or inspection areas.
  • Ensure all visitors are aware of site rules and have the correct authorisation.
  1. Parking Enforcement
  • Enforce site-specific parking policies, such as:
  • Reserved bays (e.g. for senior staff or disabled access)
  • Time-limited zones
  • No-parking areas (e.g. fire lanes, loading bays)
  • Issue warnings or incident reports for policy breaches.
  1. Incident Reporting & Response
  • Respond to:
  • Vehicle accidents
  • Suspicious packages
  • Unauthorized access attempts
  • Alarms or security alerts
  • Complete detailed incident reports and notify site management
  1. Emergency Protocols
  • Know and implement evacuation and lockdown procedures.
  • Assist in guiding vehicles and personnel during site emergencies.
  • Liaise with emergency services and internal response teams.
