REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid WA Security Officer licence.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
  • Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Infection Control Training (or willingness to obtain).
  • Vaccination history or serology evidence of immunity (or willingness to obtain).
  • Proficiency in self-defence techniques.
  • Demonstrated physical fitness.
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills, essential for patient interactions, including proficiency in de-escalation techniques.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

This casual role as a Healthcare Security Officer with Global Protection Security Pty Ltd will see you provide a high level of security and safety services to hospitals, medical clinics and other healthcare facilities across Goldfields Region. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital part in ensuring the wellbeing and protection of patients, staff and visitors.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Conduct regular patrols to deter and identify potential security threats.
  • Perform security screenings of individuals and their belongings.
  • Collaborate with healthcare personnel to maintain a secure setting.
  • Monitor patients with various mental health concerns.
  • Serve as the first responder to incidents and emergencies.
  • Apply control and restraint techniques when necessary.
  • Accurately document and report incidents in line with company and healthcare policies.
  • Maintain physical fitness to effectively perform duties during 12-hour shifts.
  • Manage situations involving patients with sensitive mental health issues, such as substance abuse, aggression, or self-harm.
