Position Summary: Security Officers are responsible for monitoring resort grounds, ensuring the safety of staff and guests, preventing suspicious or criminal activity, and protecting property and assets. They work closely with local law enforcement and emergency response agencies. Officers receive in-house training and must maintain certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and S.L.E.D. Security. They are also responsible for completing shift logs, incident reports, and other required documentation. All candidates must pass a S.L.E.D. background check and hold a valid South Carolina driver’s license. *$500 SIGN ON BONUS* Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process. Hours Needed: 2nd Shift | 4:00pm – 12:00am Qualifications: High school degree, or equivalent certificate, preferred; equivalent combination of related security training and / or military experience will be considered. Must be able to work rotating shifts seven days a week, including holidays. Must be able to pass an S.L.E.D. criminal background check. Must possess a valid SC Driver’s License. Must be able to handle confidential information. Must possess a basic knowledge of computers and computer programs. Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment. Must have good judgement. Good to Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written is required. Expectations & Responsibilities: Responsible for the surveillance of our premises and protection of our staff and visitors; including but not limited to detecting any suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, thefts and/or other criminal behavior. Responsible for providing extraordinary customer service in a positive and helpful manner; also provide such service to Resort employees to empower them to better meet their goals in the attainment of superior guest satisfaction. Protecting the owners and guest’s assets is a primary goal as a KIGR Security Officer. Inspire respect and authority from guests and employees, as well as possess a high level of observation. Help KIGR in maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping our facilities safe and problem-free. Works closely with other local entities and law enforcement agencies; will promote and maintain a good relationship with Kiawah Island Community Association members, Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, EMS teams, and St. Johns Fire Department specifically. Each KIGR Security Officer is trained in-house on First Aid, CPR, and AED; along with these certificates, a KIGR Security Officer will be trained on, and must maintain, a certificate as a Security Officer through S.L.E.D. Each KIGR Security Officer is responsible for their own departmental paperwork, and ensures that it is completed in a timely manner; such paperwork includes shift logs, incident reports, employee accidents, and other forms of paperwork in the line of duty. Essential Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry minimum weight of 25 lbs. across short-medium distances. Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements. Must be in overall good health and be able to walk at a brisk pace for up to one mile in an emergency. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
