Description The Hotel Security Officer ensures the safety and security of guests, employees, and property by monitoring hotel premises, responding to incidents, and enforcing policies. This role requires vigilance, professionalism, and strong problem-solving skills. The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment while protecting the hotel’s assets and reputation. Patrol hotel premises regularly, including guest floors, back-of-house areas, parking facilities, and public spaces. Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and guest or employee incidents. Provide professional assistance to guests and staff in cases of accidents, theft, disturbances, or medical emergencies. Enforce hotel policies and procedures while maintaining a guest-focused, service-oriented approach. Prepare accurate incident and security reports for management review. Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and fire departments when required. Escort guests and staff when necessary for safety reasons. Support loss prevention initiatives and monitor access to restricted areas. Assist with crowd control during events, conferences, or high-occupancy periods. Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information at all times. Assist in coverage of breaks for front desk or night audit employees Required to work Weekends Requirements Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in law enforcement, security, or hospitality preferred. Previous security, military, or law enforcement experience desirable. Valid security license or guard card (where required by law). First Aid/CPR certification preferred. Strong communication, observation, and conflict-resolution skills. Valid drivers' license and clean driving record Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situations. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Bilingual skills are a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (up to 8 hours). Must be able to quickly respond to emergencies, including running short distances and climbing stairs. Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to drive a motor vehicle with either a standard or automatic transmission. Good vision and hearing, with or without corrective devices. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to remain alert, attentive, and professional during overnight shifts if scheduled.
