Department: Security Shift: Variable Daily Work Times: Variable Scheduled Biweekly Hours: 48 Position Summary: Under general supervision, responsibilities include being a first responder to emergency situations at the assigned facility; makes periodic tours to secure areas, provides customer service, mitigates sudden behavioral occurrences, deters crimes, checks for irregularities and inspects protection devices and fire control equipment. Assists in the enforcement of security/safety related regulations, and protects hospital patients, visitors, staff and property from hazardous conditions and/or criminal activities, including the potential for violence in the workplace. Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license and be insurable under the hospital insurance program. Preferred: Training beyond high school in related programs. Previous experience in health care industry. Associate degree in criminal justice, security administration or related field. Six months of prior work experience.
