What You'll Do: Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors at a government location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location. Monitor access points, observe for unusual conditions, and assist with visitor direction and/or queue management while maintaining a professional presence. Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and public agency partners as needed. Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations using written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate pertinent information during shift turnover. Minimum Requirements: Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience. Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED. Be at least 21+ years of age. A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred. Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
