Your role at St John of God Murdoch Join a leading private hospital as a Security Officer and play a vital role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position is responsible for delivering a comprehensive security service across the Murdoch hospital campus, maintaining safety, managing access control, and supporting emergency response activities. You will conduct regular patrols, monitor hospital facilities and car parks, respond to incidents, and provide timely reporting and risk mitigation recommendations. The role also involves operating security systems including CCTV and access control, coordinating with emergency services where required, and maintaining strict confidentiality at all times. The Position Undertake regular patrols and active surveillance of Murdoch Hospital buildings and grounds including Hospice, Wexford and Murdoch Medical Clinics, SurgiCentre, Belmont House and car parks. Investigate all incidents relating to breaches of physical and personal security and loss of property and prepares written reports on same. Provide reports and recommendations directed to the prevention of incidents and adverse occurrences, and provides security risk management services to patients, staff and property. Provide appropriate and immediate response to any call for assistance and liaises with law enforcement and other external agencies. Operate the Hospital security systems, including access control software, issuing of security cards and CCTV systems. Maintain complete confidentiality on sensitive security and medical matters. Conduct internal cash and drug escorts as required. Receive, record, store and dispatch found and patient property. Operate the Hospital fire systems and respond to emergency situations according to the Emergency Procedures Manual. Assist in conducting fire and evacuation drills throughout the Hospital. Assist as part of the Medical Emergency Response Team afterhours under direction of the Duty Manager. Maintain traffic and parking controls in accordance with Murdoch Hospital policies and procedures. Perform minor repairs and maintenance to parking equipment. Assist Engineering after hours by patrolling plant rooms, monitoring equipment, fixing minor issues and reporting irreparable problems to the Duty Manager. Assist Nursing Caregiver’s with morgue duties. Undertake other duties as directed by Manager Security & Parking. Undertake other duties as directed afterhours by the Duty Manager, such as moving beds, collection of blood from blood bank, and escorting visitors and patients through the hospital. You will have experience in control rooms and access control software with knowledge of workplace safety including WH&S, fire panels, detection equipment, electronic access systems and CCTV systems. Holding effective communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving skills you will have the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Intermediate computer skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills including completion of reports will be required. To succeed you will hold a Security Monitoring Officer Licence and Security Officer Licence.
