Exciting role for Australian Citizen High profile government location Pay rates of $28.86 per hour + super + allowances About the Role MSS Security is looking for a professional and dependable Security Officer to join our team in a full-time, Monday to Friday position. This role is based in Newcastle and offers the rare benefit of a stable weekday roster (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) — no night shifts, weekends, or public holidays. You’ll play a key role in maintaining site safety while supporting day-to-day operations in a professional environment. If you're seeking a role that balances proactive security work with strong client interaction — and gives you your evenings and weekends back — this is the opportunity for you. Key Responsibilities: Perform internal and external foot patrols to ensure a safe and secure environment Greet visitors, provide assistance, and manage front-desk responsibilities professionally Monitor access control and issue visitor passes Respond to incidents and escalate as necessary, following site protocols Maintain logs and reports Work collaboratively with site management and other security team members What We’re Looking For Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Experience in either concierge or mobile/rover patrol roles (or both) Intermediate computer skills for reporting and access management A professional, customer-focused attitude Physically fit and alert with strong situational awareness Ability to adapt between active security duties and front-of-house responsibilities Essential Requirements Australian Citizenship (due to site requirements) Valid NSW Security Licence Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Check Certificate II in Security Operations (or higher) Current First Aid & CPR Certification Willingness to undergo and pass a National Criminal History Check Master Licence Number: 408742075 How to apply MSS Security is an Equal Opportunity Employer, valuing the unique backgrounds, experiences, and contributions of each person We encourage and celebrate diversity.
