JOB SUMMARY

Northstar Protection is seeking vigilant and professional Security Officers to support event venues across Minnesota. Officers play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for guests, staff, and vendors. This position requires strong observational skills, conflict de-escalation, and a commitment to upholding venue rules and safety standards.
Note: Job site locations are currently Saint Paul (Eastside), White Bear Lake, and Andover.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in security, event services, law enforcement, or military preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid knowledge required; certification strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to observe and recognize behavioral red flags (e.g., intoxication, unauthorized access).
  • Familiarity with access control, guest screening, and incident reporting.
  • Must be fluent in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and guest flow to ensure safe and authorized access.
  • Patrol event spaces, parking areas, and high-traffic zones to deter disturbances, loitering, and unsafe behavior.
  • Enforce venue policies, including alcohol restrictions, re-entry limits, and conduct expectations.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or medical emergencies, providing first aid/CPR as needed.
  • Use surveillance tools (CCTV, radios) and clear communication to support incident prevention and response.
  • Intervene in conflicts with professionalism, applying trained de-escalation techniques.
  • Write accurate Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and Incident Reports documenting observations, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with venue management and law enforcement as necessary.
