Description Position: Security Officer Reports to: Security Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Overview We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring access points, patrolling designated areas, and responding promptly to security incidents. This role is vital in maintaining a secure environment and preventing loss or unauthorized access. Candidates with backgrounds in law enforcement, military service, or security are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Conduct regular patrols of the property to identify and address potential security risks Monitor surveillance equipment to observe activity across the premises Control access points by verifying credentials and maintaining visitor logs Respond swiftly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents, including medical emergencies requiring first aid or CPR if certified Enforce property policies and procedures to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized entry Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of security activities Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary Manage conflict situations professionally, ensuring safety for all parties involved Requirements Experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is preferred Valid certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Knowledge of surveillance systems and loss prevention techniques Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure Excellent observational skills and attention to detail Ability to stand for extended periods and patrol large areas as needed Must pass background checks and any required drug screenings prior to employment Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license are a plus but not mandatory This position offers an opportunity to play a crucial role in safeguarding our community while working in a professional environment dedicated to safety. Requirements Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required. C.L.E.E.T. certification preferred. Must have valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles. Previous Security Officer experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to memorize, recollect and quickly retrieve relevant information. Ability to perform in crisis and work under pressure without loss of composure. Ability to deal with diversity. Understand and comply with all Company and Departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Ability to adequately control Radio Communications, Computer Logs, Key Control, Written Notes, and Telephone duties. Good telephone skills needed. Must be able to multitask. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills. Basic Computer Skills.
