Security Officer - Part Time, Saturday and Sunday 11pm - 7:30am  POSITION SUMMARY The Security Officer will provide a safe and secure environment for the patients, visitors and staff of Wellbridge.  This is accomplished by screening all people entering the facility via guard booth and stationary posts, performing routine roving patrol of the buildings and grounds, assisting with new patient entry, and monitoring cameras.  RESPONSIBILITIES Perform roving patrol of the buildings and grounds as scheduled.  Screen all visitors to the Campus at designated guard booths and stationary entry posts.  Assist intake/admissions team with new patients to the campus: recording personal belongings, calming families using de-escalation techniques and assisting with physical restraint, as directed by medical personnel.  Monitor security cameras and alarms, looking for unusual occurrences and situations  Investigate reports of missing property, take information and file report internally.  Enforce all campus safety policies and procedures: no-smoking, no contraband, no alcohol/drugs or paraphernalia.  Assist medical staff with inspection of rooms, confiscation and appropriate logging and disposal of same.  Maintain key control and access control on the Campus.  Other duties as assigned.  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS 1. 8 hour and 16 hour NYS Security Guard Program certification is required  2. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent  3. Valid, unrestricted NYS Driver’s License within Wellbridge standard.   4. Strong work ethic, strong situational awareness skills  5. Good written & oral communication skills  6. Knowledge of cameras, multiplexers and integrated security alarm systems preferred  7. Knowledge of de-escalation and non-violent crisis intervention practices  8. Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time  9. Ability to walk for extended periods of time  10. Ability to lift weights of up to 50lbs with or without assistance  11. Good visual and mental acuity  12. Hospital/healthcare security experience is preferred  13. Prior law enforcement experience is a plus but not necessary This position is eligible for applicable evening and overnight shift differentials.
