In this position, you will provide a comprehensive security service, including monitoring hospital premises, responding to incidents and supporting staff and visitors with professionalism and care. About the new Midland Private Hospital A brand-new purpose-built state-of-the-art facility, currently under construction, located just 300 metres from the St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals Campus. A comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, with interventional cardiology being offered for the first time in the region The hospital will feature: 96 overnight inpatient beds, including a six-bed critical care/high dependency unit. 33-bed/chair short stay and day procedure unit Eight operating theatres. A cardiac/vascular catheter laboratory The Role Undertakes regular patrols and active surveillance of Midland Private Hospital buildings and grounds in accordance with standard operating procedures. Investigates all incidents relating to breaches of physical and personal security and loss of property and prepares written reports on same. Provides reports and recommendations directed to the prevention of incidents and adverse occurrences, and provides security risk management services to patients, staff and property. Provides appropriate and immediate response to any call for assistance and liaises with law enforcement and other external agencies. Operates the Hospital security systems, including access control software, issuing of security cards and CCTV systems. Maintains complete confidentiality on sensitive security matters. Exercise key control and maintain key register Conducts internal and external cash and bank runs as required. Receives, records, stores and dispatches found and patient property. Operates the Hospital fire systems and responds to emergency situations according to the Emergency Procedures Manual. Assists in conducting annual fire and evacuation drills throughout the Hospital. Maintains traffic and parking controls in accordance with Midland Private Hospital policies and procedures. Maintaining traffic and parking controls in accordance with Midland Private Hospital directives and City of Swan Council By Laws. Performs minor repairs and maintenance to parking equipment. All other reasonable duties as directed by Manager/Supervisor. We are seeking a professional and reliable Security Officers who hold a Certificate II in Security Services, a valid Security Officer Licence and current Security Monitoring Officer Licence, along with a current First Aid Certificate. The successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A high standard of personal presentation and punctuality is essential, as is flexibility to work across day, afternoon and night shifts. You will possess well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, sound computer skills in Microsoft Office, and a strong understanding of workplace safety (WHS) and commitment to continuous quality improvement.
