Description The Hotel Indigo is currently seeking a full time third shift Security Guard to join our Security team at our StepStone Hospitality managed hotel. The security guard assists in proper building security patrol and surveillance of hotel premises in effort to protect employees as well as hotel guests. The position is responsible for detecting suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, thefts or criminal behavior. Scheduled hours will vary weekly between Monday-Sunday. Weekdays, weekends, and holidays are required. 11pm or 7am The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, physical dexterity and an active sense of curiosity about the world around them. Responsibilities: Patrol lobby, corridors, and common areas. Confer with management, interview guests, associates, and others to detect infringements, disturbances, complaints, theft, vandalism, etc. · Patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and damaged or inoperative safety equipment. · Warn or eject troublemakers and caution careless persons. Obtain assistance for accident victims and file accident reports. Notify staff of presence of persons with questionable reputations. Assist management and enforcement officers in emergency situations. Enter and check rooms of guests suspected of nonpayment of bill to confirm suspicions and remove remaining personal property. Establish and supervise operational procedures for activities such as fire prevention and fighting, traffic control, guarding and patrolling physical property, orienting and monitoring personnel involved with classified information, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts. · Respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner. Requirements Must be available second shift Security certification nice but not required. Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred) Security: 1 year (Required) Proven experience as security officer or guard Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety Familiarity with report writing Excellent surveillance and observation skills Tech-savvy with experience in surveillance systems High School diploma is required EOE - All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
