Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Shelter Patrol Roving Full-Time in East Elmhurst, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and creating a welcoming environment for residents and visitors. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $18.02 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeThur04:00 PM - 12:00 AMFri04:00 PM - 12:00 AMSat04:00 PM - 12:00 AMSun04:00 PM - 12:00 AM What You’ll Do: Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise Responsibilities: Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols. Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns. Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related issues within the location to the appropriate personnel. Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying authorized individuals, and helping to maintain order within the shelter environment. Support Allied Universal and client staff during emergency situations by following emergency response protocols and providing information as required. What We’re Looking For: Availability across various days and shifts Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available Minimum Requirements: A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
