Your part in The Wesley Hospital team We are searching for experienced hospital-based Security and Emergency Response team members for The Wesley Hospital, you will be responsible for providing a secure environment for staff, visitors and patients. A previous background in a similar type of workplace is essential, holding a current Queensland Class 1 Security Provider Licence with endorsements in Security Officer Unarmed, Crowd Control and Monitoring. A hands-on role, key responsibilities and duties will include: Operating the Security/Fire services Monitor room Issuing Identification Cards and maintain the employee data file Operational of fire indicator panels and EWIS system · Responding to fire alarms and emergency codes in accordance with AS 4083-2010' Emergency Planning in Healthcare Facilities and AS 3745-2010' Planning for Emergencies in Facilities Providing an escort service for visitors and staff within the Hospital campus Locking and patrolling the Hospital complex and all parking areas Investigating security related incidents, ensuring detailed and accurate reports are completed Responding to complaints and inquiries from staff and visitors, whilst adopting a customer service approach at all times Monitoring and responding to plant and equipment faults Identifying risks and recommending improvements for the safety of staff, patients and visitors Promoting and maintaining security awareness amongst staff members Performing general administrative duties Operating high volume car park management systems If coming from another industry with transferable skills, applications will be considered as long as the relevant licences are available for review. What makes a difference for us? Highly desirable experience in hospital-based security and emergency response. Mandatory requirement of Current Queensland Class 1 Security Provider Licence with endorsements in Security Officer Unarmed, Crowd Control and Monitoring (please provide security licence number in resume or cover letter) Minimum 3 years’ experience in security related employment Certificate II in Security Operations or above Advanced computer skills including MS Office and security/car park applications Flexibility to work rotational shifts of 12-hours, including nights and weekends A current manual open driver’s license Ability to work in a busy Control Room environment Beneficial to have hospital required vaccinations to speed up your onboarding process.
