Get to Know Your Team: UT Health East Texas is comprised of 10 hospitals, more than 90 clinics, nearly 7,000 employees and over 1,000 licensed inpatient beds. UT Health East Texas provides healthcare services through our hospitals, clinics, Level 1 trauma facility, air emergency fleet and EMS service. Responsibilities This position requires a positive, professional demeanor while providing protection and assistance for the hospital visitors and employees. Important that they take notice of safety concerns or any violations within the organization and uphold the Standard of Behaviors that are set by the organization. Qualifications Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in Law Enforcement, institutional security program, or honorable military service. Must obtain security officer license with the Texas Board of Private Investigators and Private Security Agencies within 90 days. Must be able to qualify to carry firearms. Possess a current Texas Driver’s License. Possess current Auto Liability Insurance in accordance with Texas Law. Knowledge of local, state and federal laws. Must be able to qualify for company insurance. Must be able to perform the duties of a security officer to include subduing and legally detaining suspects. Must possess manual dexterity. Must use written, verbal auditory and non-verbal visual sources of information. Must make general decisions in the absence of specific directions. Preferred Job Requirements: Some college education. Secondary Spanish language.
Responsibilities
The Security Officer provides protection and assistance to hospital visitors and employees while maintaining a professional demeanor. They are responsible for identifying safety concerns and upholding organizational standards of behavior.
