Must be available weekends and holidays. The primary responsibility of our Security Officer is to provide the highest level of safety and security for all hotel guests and employees through property tours and high visibility. This position requires working 3rd shift, primarily Friday and Saturday 7pm to 5am. The Essential Functions of a Security Officer include: Knowledge of hotel’s Emergency Procedures. Conduct regular inspections of interior and exterior of hotel property. Follow up on guests’ calls of disturbances. Effectively communicate the hotel policies regarding acceptable behavior to unruly guests. Eviction of unruly guests from the hotel, with assistance from Night Auditor. Complete and distribute daily Security reports. Cover Night Auditor breaks. Requirements Supportive Functions: Assist in check-in/check-out of guests or any other guest service-related activity. Perform other duties as requested. Example: special requests from guests. Perform any other tasks as requested by hotel management personnel. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with employees and guests Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers, some of whom will require a high level of patience, tact and diplomacy, to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts Education/Experience Comparable hotel size and scope of experience preferred Note: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
