Key Responsibilities Operate the luggage scanner machine to scan and identify prohibited items in guests' luggage. Ensure that the luggage is handled with care and returned to the guest in the same condition it was received. Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff. Keep the luggage scanner machine and surrounding area clean and organized. Report any suspicious activity or items found to the security supervisor immediately. Provide excellent customer service to guests and answer any questions they may have about the luggage scanning process. Politely asking the guest to enter their luggage into the X-ray machine, and if there are any fragile items within the luggage, the luggage should be tagged / marked as ‘Fragile’. Manually check for any undefined objects and dark objects, which cannot be brightened up with image enhancement features. Operate all equipment following recommended procedures and report any deficiencies or anomalies of such equipment immediately. All the applicable goods should be placed into the X-ray machine by the vendors/visitors. Raise awareness of any potential hazards when operating equipment such as radiation emissions from X-Ray Screening Equipment. Hand search any items that are too large to fit through the X-Ray machine. Initiate action to improve a hazardous situation immediately. Implement procedures for security and emergency incidents. In the event of fire, be thoroughly familiar with and guided by the hotel’s emergency plan. Be alert for any unusual packages, guests or vehicles and advise superior of same. Health, Safety and Security Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all company policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety and ensure your direct reports do the same. Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures. Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are logged investigated and rectified to prevent future catastrophes. Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers. Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements.
