Description
The Security Operations Analyst is a critical early-security-career role that supports the detection, investigation, and coordination activities that underpin AutoStore’s cybersecurity operations. As a Tier 1 resource, the Analyst is responsible for triaging alerts, reviewing phishing reports, supporting investigations, and handling routine security coordination, ensuring that the Security Operations Engineer can focus on advanced threats, tooling, and tuning. This role offers a unique opportunity for a hands-on, inquisitive professional to build foundational cybersecurity skills, contribute to incident response readiness, and grow toward more advanced responsibilities over time. The Security Operations Analyst will also play a key role in coordinating with IT Operations, Cloud and Product Engineering Teams in helping to drive effective vendor engagement. Key Responsibilities Alert & Incident Support Triage alerts from the EDR (e.g., CrowdStrike) and MDR provider (eSentire), escalating validated threats to the Security Operations Engineer Review and respond to user-reported phishing emails, prioritising advanced cases for deeper investigation Assist in collecting evidence and documenting response actions during incidents Maintain incident logs, communication timelines, and Jira ticket updates for traceability. Phishing & Mailbox Management Monitor and triage the security inbox; ensure timely review and routing of phishing reports and general inquiries Help improve phishing detection and training feedback loops through documentation and analysis. Ticketing & Coordination Track and follow up on Jira security tickets, particularly those requiring coordination with Infrastructure or End User Services Support routine security-related IT Ops handoffs, such as patch status checks, allowlisting requests, or agent health checks. Security Tools Support Assist in the day-to-day operation and monitoring of security tools Identify anomalies or recurring operational issues and report them to the Security Operations Engineer or CISO for further analysis. Documentation & Process Maturity Document processes, alerts, and common workflows to support continuity and enable automation or delegation Contribute to team knowledge bases, playbooks, and incident response guides. Development & Growth Participate in internal learning and development activities to build skills in detection, response, and threat analysis Take ownership of specific improvement tasks or mini-projects, with mentoring from senior team members. Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in an IT support, SOC, or cybersecurity-related role (internships acceptable) Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts including phishing, malware, endpoint protection, and security awareness Comfortable using ticketing systems (e.g., Jira), email triage, and basic reporting tools Strong communication, curiosity, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
