Required Experiences/Skillset:

  • 3-5 Years of Leadership/Supervisory background

  • Proficiency in relevant software (Microsoft Office Suites, SAP, inventory management programs, etc.)
  • Communication and Interpersonal skills

Required Licensure:

  • Valid Drivers License
  • Ability to obtain a Watchman’s License
  • Ability to pass the local licensing process (may consist of background + fingerprinting)

Shift Specifics:

  • 24/7 On-call responsibilities for operational needs
  • Schedule flexibility is encouraged to accommodate the needs of the team
  • Standard schedule: Tues. - Sun.
  • Shift ranges between hours of 9:00am to 11:00pm

The starting pay for this position is $65,000.00 annually salaried.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Application Of Operating Model: Apply Block by Block standard concepts, processes, practices, and policies to daily operations to address local needs and concerns.
Operational Oversight: Responsible for daily guidance and direction of on-street operations. Develops a custom deployment plan to maximize visibility and effectiveness of resources (personnel and equipment). Evaluates daily needs and adjusts the standard deployment plan to meet the daily needs of the service district.
Human Resources: Recruits, selects potential candidates for hire. Trains, coaches, and mentors selected staff to create a cohesive team of Ambassadors to represent Downtown.
Quality Assurance: Ensures service expectations are being met through regular contact with customers; evaluates quality of services through measuring individual employee performances compared to expectations and overall program performance, making adjustments as necessary.
Customer Relations: Actively engages customer representatives and stakeholders to discuss local issues and to set a course for continual program evolution. Implements new local strategies to continually improve service delivery.
Reporting: Uses a combination of standard Block by Block reporting processes, combined with processes developed specifically to update stakeholders on accomplishments and program effectiveness. Must be able to provide written reports of broken infrastructure, graffiti on private property, and provide a basic daily report of accomplishments and tasks completed. Must be able to provide direction and counsel to team members and report concerns to the Operations Manager.
Hands On: The Operations Supervisor is an important element of the program’s visibility and is expected to be a working supervisor to actively participate in daily safety and cleaning tasks and duties.
Front Line Leadership: Responsible for managing shift duties of the clean and safe ambassadors while ensuring compliance with all Block by Block standards, procedures, and policies.·
Professionalism: Must maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and overall Block by Block standards of expected professionalism.
Physical Abilities: Must have the physical capacity to walk continuously during an eight hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen minutes, and one thirty minute meal break). Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
Communication: Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
Computer Skills: Must be proficient in computer usage and in Microsoft Office products.
