Security Officer
Location: Dublin 15, Blanchardstown
Salary: €15.41 per hour
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a professional and dedicated Security Officer to join our team. In this role, you will provide an efficient, effective, and customer-focused security service, ensuring the safety and security of university buildings, staff, students, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and the public, delivering a professional and courteous service.
  • Manage internal security operations, including access control, CCTV monitoring, and liaison with external security teams.
  • Respond to emergencies, including fire and bomb alerts, ensuring effective communication and safety protocols are followed.
  • Conduct building patrols, manage key control, and maintain visitor logs.
  • Assist contractors and visitors, ensuring adherence to site procedures.
  • Operate and monitor CCTV, alarms, and radio systems.
  • Oversee fire evacuation procedures, acting as Fire Warden, and provide First Aid assistance when required.
  • Maintain accurate records, incident reports, and compliance with Health & Safety protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Valid PSA licence.
  • Good standard of general education.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Desirable:

  • First Aid and Fire Warden qualifications.
  • PC literacy in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
