About the role: As part of the Enterprise Platforms Team you will be responsible for the operational performance, stability, and prioritisation of security infrastructure platforms, including firewalls, load balancers, TLS termination, certificates, and associated controls. The role provides clear daily direction to the MSP, owns security infrastructure change and incident outcomes, and ensures controls are reliable, auditable, and aligned to service availability. The Security Platform Lead supports cyber incidents through initial review, infrastructure containment execution and coordination of Security Engineers and MSP Engineers. Typical Responsibilities will include: * End-to-end ownership of: * Firewalls * Load Balancers * Proxies * External Certificates / Domains / DNS * Set daily priorities for all security-related BAU work * Provide leadership, support and technical escalation point for Security Infrastructure which may occur outside of business hours * Accountability for risk management plans/processes and successfully implements/operate them across teams. * Act as the primary contact for security infrastructure incidents, changes and outcomes * Assess risk and service impact for proposed and emergency changes * Attend relevant meetings to represent Security changes / improvements * Provide ownership and guidance of security infrastructure policies, procedures, design and configurations. * Security Infrastructure lifecycle planning, end of life / end of support remediation * Vulnerability and Patch Management * Work alongside Architecture and project teams on security design and effort estimations About you: Your strong technical background enables you to provide clear platform leadership across a range of security domains. You ensure security changes are well-governed and predictable, certificate renewals are managed proactively, and cyber activities are effectively triaged and coordinated. You maintain readily accessible audit evidence, uphold well-documented infrastructure security practices and processes, and drive consistent, low-risk delivery through managed service providers. Knowledge and Experience: * Demonstrated knowledge in security principles and technical understanding of IT security related technologies (e.g firewalls, endpoint/server protection, email security, data encryption, PKI, HSM, DLP/IDS, etc.); * High level knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and DNS technologies. * High level knowledge of the Cisco security suite (ISE, Stealthwatch, etc) * High level knowledge of Firewall technologies * Checkpoint (VSX, Maestro) * Cisco ASA, FPS, FMC) * Fortinet (SD-WAN) * Cloud Firewall (AWS / Azure) * High level knowledge of Proxy technologies * Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA) * Forcepoint * High level knowledge of Application Delivery technologies * F5 (GTM, LTM, Distributed Cloud) * Cloudflare * High level knowledge of External Certificate Management Why you’ll love working with us: People First Bank – our new brand – says exactly what we’re all about: people.
