Position: Security Professional - Emergency Dispatcher
Type: Full Time
Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta
Pay Rate: $23 -$24 per hour

SCHEDULE: FULL-TIME SCHEDULE: 12-HOUR ROTATING SHIFTS (DAYS, NIGHTS, WEEKENDS, AND STATUTORY/RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS)

Overview:
We are seeking a Security Professional - Emergency Dispatcher to join our team in a steady, established industrial setting. In this role, you’ll provide real-time support for emergency incidents, monitor security systems, and dispatch responses to ensure the site’s safety and security. This position offers hands-on experience in high-stakes security dispatching, ideal for those looking to build or enhance careers in emergency response and security operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of security experience, preferably in an industrial setting. Previous dispatch experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of radio and telephone communications; proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to make sound decisions using available information and respond appropriately to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent prioritization skills and multi-tasking ability.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate a strong attendance record.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Must have an individual Security Officer’s License through Alberta Solicitor General.

Additional Information:

  • Applicants must be willing to work a rotating schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays (Mazeppa schedule).
Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to emergency and security-related calls via radio and telephone, communicating effectively with field personnel using radio and telecommunication systems.
  • Monitor and manage CCTV cameras, access control alarms, and other systems, including Access Control, Paging, Telecommunication, and Radio Systems.
  • Prioritize service calls, allocate manpower efficiently, and adjust responses based on system inputs such as Headcount Assembly and Lightning/Weather Monitoring.
  • Conduct foot and vehicle patrols, documenting observations and incidents using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and other reporting tools.
  • Take swift, effective action during security incidents and emergencies.
  • Prepare detailed reports on patrol activities and system data for management.
