DESCRIPTION

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Security Programs and Services Division Director to work with the Safeguards and Security team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located at our Research and Education Campus in Idaho Falls with every other Friday off.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of experience OR Master’s degree and at least 5 years of experience is required.
  • At least 5 years of management experience is required.
  • Knowledge of security practices and procedures, such as personnel, physical, and/or information security in a government setting.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy “Q” clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 15 years of experience OR Master’s degree and at least 12 years of experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading change.
  • Ability to communicate to individuals at all levels (individual contributor through senior leadership) and across the peer group both inside and outside of the organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with people is required. Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide senior leadership at the division director level.
  • Protect, control, and account for INL security interests.
  • Manage a diverse staff of ~50 FTEs with significant impact on INL.
  • Establish and communicate clear performance expectations and goals for staff.
  • Manage a $14M budget.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Manage activities through second or third level managers. Manage professional employees and subordinate managers from multiple disciplines.
  • Accountable for division budget which may be broad and have far reaching impact on the business segment. Ensure that budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained.
  • Participate in the development of overall objectives and long-term goals of the division and the directorate.
  • Establish and administer operational objectives, policies, procedures, and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinates.
  • Develop, modify, and execute company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have companywide effect.
  • Interact regularly with lower and/or senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, department, and/or customers.
