THE OPPORTUNITY:

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Security Project Manager within our Future Combat Air (FCA) team. This role covers all project security aspects for the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) and you will be the focal point for all security related matters, supporting multiple programme areas. We are looking for a well organised strong communicator to work in a highly collaborative environment with good knowledge of defence security processes.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Previous experience in defence industry or armed forces preferred
  • Experience working with HMG classified material at a range of levels
  • Strong understanding of defence security processes
  • Degree qualified in a technical field (e.g. engineering, science) or equivalent practical experience is desirable, however if you do not have a degree but you have relevant experience, we are interested in hearing from you
  • Pro-active, dynamic individual who can work collaboratively and is able to recognise, develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships at all levels of the business
  • Great organisational skills and strong communicator with the ability to self-manage
Responsibilities
  • You will work closely with Site Security, Security Specialists and Project and Programme Managers to develop into becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide guidance to the Integrated Project Team (IPT) for classification of data.
  • Support and manage the community of Security Subject Matter Experts in a coordinated way
  • Coordination of Security compliance and guidance to the portfolio of programmes
  • Coordination of activities relating to Security Grading Guide (SGG), Security Aspects Letters (SAL) and accreditation of suppliers
  • Maintenance and management of security clearances, including security briefing and read-ons processes to new team members
  • Managing, administering and controlling access to project shared areas
  • Checking correct security clearance and adhering to nationality process
  • Management of travel controls and request for visitors procedures
  • Support Risk Managers to identify Security risks and manage associated mitigation actions
  • Management of secure facilities and hardware responsibilities and processes
  • Become the Subject Matter Expert for guidance on UKEO material handling within a multi-national team environment
  • Documenting portfolio compliance processes
  • Coordinate cross site portfolio security requirements
  • Attending relevant IPT meetings to provide guidance to the team on security matters
