Description
We are seeking a skilled Country Risk & Security Advisor to manage a short-term (6 months) project delivering mitigation advice to private sector companies entering the market. The successful candidate will work with diverse stakeholders to identify contextual, operational, and cyber security risks, and will develop comprehensive Mitigation Action Plans at the country level. The ideal candidate has experience as a corporate security manager or has worked within UNDSS/INGO security structures in Ukraine, with exposure to multi-disciplinary risk frameworks (grant program risk, cyber risk, standard security risk management). Responsibilities/ deliverables: These are the key things that you are responsible for delivering within your role. There will be activities and tasks in addition to this list that are expected from you but the majority of your time will be: Lead development of country-level Mitigation Action Plans covering multiple risk areas (grant program risk, cyber, SRM). Conduct multi-disciplinary risk assessments and analysis to inform programming and operations. Collaborate cross-culturally with internal and external stakeholders. Apply effective intelligence to respond dynamically to the changing security environment, trends, and threats. Advise on operational risk mitigation measures and implementation. Advise on supply chain risk mitigation measures and implementation. Ensure alignment with organizational policies, donor requirements, and regulatory obligations. Support crisis preparedness—planning, training, and response coordination. Deliver briefings and written reports to leadership and partners. Support program teams in integrating risk mitigation into program design and delivery. Maintain relationships with UN, NGO, government, and private-sector security networks. You will have previous experience: Experience as a Corporate Security Manager or in UNDSS / INGO / NGO security management roles. Demonstrated ability to work cross-culturally with diverse stakeholders. Experience developing and implementing country-level mitigation frameworks. Strong understanding of: Project Management Security Risk Management (SRM) Supply Chain Risk Strong analytical and written communication skills. Ability to synthesize complex risk inputs into strategic action plans. Knowledge of Ukraine’s industrial and security landscape. Fluent in English Preferred qualifications: Experience in private sector, international development, humanitarian operations, or grant-funded programs. Ukrainian language will give the candidate a distinct advantage Japanese Language skills are desirable Relevant professional certifications
