Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and customer service-oriented technician to join our amazing culture. The Service Technician plays a key role in servicing and supporting our customers.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Security Technician. With industry or trade qualifications
  • Have or be eligible to obtain a NSW Security Licence.
  • Passion for technology.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience with Electronics.
  • OH&S card.
  • Experience with various EACS systems Gallagher, Integriti and Lenel preferred.
  • Experience in IT including IP CCTV, IP intercoms and networking experience with Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Certificate or equivalent
  • Certificate III in Security or equivalent technical certification
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

This position is responsible for providing customer and technical support for installed systems Security CCTV Access Control Systems, Intercom, Visitor Management Systems and other cloud based or IP systems. Services and supports existing customers by responding to service calls, carrying out Customer Support Programs and performing installation and commissioning on minor works and small projects jobs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO WITH “OUR TRAINING AND YOUR EXPERIENCE”

  • Respond to routine and some non-routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and after-hours service calls on a timely basis; will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and debug systems for problems, install projects as necessary.
  • Identifies and resolves problems for many types of service calls including emergency and after-hours calls; analyzes repair requirements and provides customer with appropriate solutions; completes necessary repairs and replacements as needed; exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.
  • Completes accurate and detailed service reports for customer and Convergint in a timely manner to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
  • Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times, ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
  • May provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation. May install, configure, and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned projects.
  • Executes all service calls in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations as well as company health and safety policies and procedures. Uses solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE:

  • High level communication skills – written, oral, liaison.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards applicable to the Security Industry.
  • Good planning and project management skills and the ability to prioritise issues and tasks.
  • An understanding of quality assurance principles and their application.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A proficiency in MS Office applications.
