Security Site Manager
Guardteck Security is hiring for a Site Security Manager in Toronto Ontario!
The Site Manager position, which reports to the Account Manager designated by Guardteck Operations, is important in ensuring that the site is performing at a high level of Customer Service and following the site’s contractual requirements. This position requires a high level of professionalism and the ability to act quickly during various incidents that happen on-site.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- College diploma in Law Enforcement and/or Security Administration
- 3 - 4 years experience with a security firm or law enforcement agency
- 2 years supervisory experience or equivalent combination of related education, training and experience (post-secondary experience preferred)
- Valid certification in First Aid, CPR and WHMIS
- Valid Ontario Security License
- Good knowledge of site security and life safety needs and Industry-related techniques, technology and trends
- Knowledgeable of applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation and regulations
- Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills
- Excellent report-writing skills
- Strong leadership, with good conflict resolution skills
- Good customer service and leadership skills
- Ability to delegate effectively and be flexible and adaptable in dealing with a diversity of people and situations
- Understanding of the budget process
- Digital literacy in Word and Google Suite
- Knowledge or qualifications in Incident Management/Command System and
- Basic Emergency Management are considered assets.
- Strong knowledge of Access Control Systems and Video Management Systems is an asset

Responsibilities:
- Coaching and Development of the site’s Security Leadership Team
- Developing and implementing robust security strategies and policies to protect the company’s assets, employees, and facilities
- Manage the activities of Guardteck employees to ensure the timely and effective achievement of departmental goals and objectives within prescribed policies, procedures and standard business practices
- Provide regular motivation and mentoring to all staff to encourage ongoing professional development for succession planning purposes.
- Determine needs and resources and coordinate training of staff
- Monitor the dress, deportment and written reports of staff
- Investigate complaints, thefts and suspicious activities promptly and follow up with stakeholders, management and others
- Schedule daily activities of staff to ensure qualified coverage of security functions
- Collaborate closely with Yorkville Education LP stakeholders on behalf of Guardteck Security management to resolve issues and concerns and provide advice on loss control and other security matters
- Implement Corrective Action Plans with timelines and ensure alignment with all stakeholders
- Review, distribute and file daily memoranda, staff records and correspondence;Maintain open communication with all personnel to seek new ways to improve the overall operation of the department
- Conduct formal or informal training of staff in First Aid, CPR, handcuffing techniques, self-defense, report writing and other skills or knowledge related to security responsibilities
- Write comprehensive security reports and summaries;Supervise/handle sensitive, high-profile situations in a professional and exemplary manner
- Maintain currency of knowledge with respect to relevant legislation and regulations including, but not limited to: Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, The Criminal Code, and The Trespass to Property Act
