Description JOB TITLE: Security Specialist EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular WORK STATUS: Full Time FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt OCCUPATIONAL GROUP: Administration REPORTS TO: Security Manager DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: None The Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring that access to the site, including simulator bays and secured facilities, is restricted to properly authorized personnel only. This position serves as the first point of contact for students, staff, contractors, and visitors, verifying credentials and issuing access badges in accordance with clearance levels and mission requirements. The Security Specialist works closely with Air Force squadron personnel to support security documentation, maintain official records, and perform a full range of administrative security functions. These duties include managing security forms, training records, and retaining required security documentation for the duration of the contract. Essential Functions of the Position: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required for a Security Specialist. Verify the identity and authorization of personnel, including contractors, students, and visitors, and issue access badges accordingly Manage and monitor the access control system to ensure appropriate permissions for site and simulator facilities Maintain accurate security logs, records, and forms related to daily site activity Oversee key control for all buildings under the contract Ensure all secured facilities are properly locked and alarmed at the end of each duty day Conduct periodic security and safety inspections of secure facilities and surrounding areas Train designated personnel on facility opening and closing procedures and ensure positive control of secured areas Report security incidents, discrepancies, or concerns to the Security Manager, Site Manager, and/or base security authorities as required Provide administrative support related to international aviation student control, including documentation and record management Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment Brief and train personnel on local, contractual, and regulatory security policies and procedures Conduct audits of controlled items, including keys, badges, and classified materials Perform student verification and required security briefings Receive and ship packages in both classified and unclassified environments, in accordance with applicable procedures Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Education and/or Experience: The following education and experience requirements must be met to qualify for this position. Relevant experience may substitute for education on a two-for-one yearly basis. · High School Diploma or equivalent · Previous administrative, customer service, or security-related experience preferred but not required Security Clearance Requirements · Must be eligible for and able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance · Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Common Access Card (CAC) privileges Work Schedule Requirements · Must be available to work overtime as required · Must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays in support of mission requirement
