POSITION SUMMARY

The Security Specialist analyzes, plans, advises, operates, or evaluates the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting classified information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience shall include a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the Physical Security, Counterintelligence, Operational Security (OPSEC) and Antiterrorism/Force Protection within the past five (5) years.
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and group presentation skills.
  • Well-developed multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Must have computer literacy skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Possess a Valid Drivers’ License without special restrictions.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must undergo a background check.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

  • Program planning, program evaluation, identifying and resolving security related issues, and advising organizational leadership on appropriate Physical Security, Operational Security (OPSEC) and Antiterrorism/ Force Protection (AT/FP) measures.
  • Developing, evaluating, maintaining, and/or operating systems, policies, devices, procedures, and methods used for safeguarding information, property, personnel, operations, and materials.
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures for analyzing and evaluating the character, background, and history of employees, candidates for employment, and other persons having or proposed to be granted access to classified or other sensitive information, materials, or work sites.
  • Knowledge in Counterintelligence awareness and reporting.
  • Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
