Description

Reports to: Security Manager Category: Seasonal (April - September 2026 in Hoonah, Alaska) Salary Range: $19.00 plus bonus potential Summary: A Security Guard is responsible for monitoring the assigned specific area, ensuring proper identification, evicting trespassers and writing reports detailing any occurrences during their shift. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The overall duty of a Security Guard is to protect a company’s property, employees, and visitors. * Monitoring activities in assigned location on the company’s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure * Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over * Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and vehicles according to protocols * Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to management * Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner * Performing CPR or first aid when needed * Any other duties as assigned by management. Requirements & Work Environment: * Have current TWIC card certification (required). * Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat. * Prolonged periods of standing or sitting. * Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times. * Ability to communicate in English to our associates and guests. * Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation. * Must have or must be willing to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification. * Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. * Ability to work in an unheated building. * Willing to live in a remote, rural community * Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting * Able to walk and/or drive on gravel roads in inclement weather * In Season, the hours can be extended. Icy Strait Point is a Native-owned and operated enterprise and offers Native Preference under P.O. 93-638.
