POSITION OVERVIEW

As a key member of the venue security leadership team, the Security Supervisor, working under the guidance of the Security Manager, assists in managing the safety and security operations during live events. This role requires a highly professional demeanor and a strong focus on delivering outstanding customer service to all guests, artists, and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications; Must have a valid California Guard Card
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in security, preferably in entertainment, hospitality, or live events.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to interact with diverse attendees professionally. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
  • Calm under pressure, excellent judgment, and conflict-resolution capabilities.
  • Excellent customer service orientation—friendly, approachable, yet authoritative.
  • Physically able to stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise & Lead Security Team
  • Assist Security Manager to coordinate and oversee security personnel, ensuring proper staffing, position assignments, and coverage throughout events.
  • Conduct pre-event briefings, provide clear instructions, and manage breaks and shift transitions.
  • Guest-Centric Service
  • Greet and assist guests in a friendly, courteous manner; handle inquiries and resolve complaints with tact and efficiency.
  • Offer directions, seating assistance, and general venue guidance to enhance guest experience.
  • Safety & Incident Management
  • Maintain active surveillance, monitor access points, and conduct efficient entry screenings (e.g., ticket checks, bag searches, metal detectors).
  • Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, disturbances, medical incidents, or unauthorized activity.
  • Author accurate, detailed incident reports of irregularities or safety concerns.
  • Professionalism & Team Leadership
  • Serve as a role model—maintain a well-groomed appearance and professional conduct at all times.
  • Enforce venue safety policies and ensure team compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Support staff through positive reinforcement, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Operational Coordination
  • Collaborate closely with venue management, operations staff, service teams, and external agencies as needed.
  • Assist with post-event responsibilities like crowd dispersal, securing the venue, and supporting other departments.
  • Track performance, submit schedules, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
