Description
Description The National WWII Museum is currently seeking a Security Supervisor - Overnight. Reporting to the Director of Security, the Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily security operations, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, property, and information, and providing exceptional customer service while upholding the organization’s security protocols. This role supervises a team of security officers, coordinates shift schedules, ensures adherence to Museum policies, and acts as a liaison between security staff and management. The Security Supervisor leads by example and responds effectively to incidents, emergencies, and security threats. Requirements Supervise and coordinate the activities of security officers during assigned shifts. Assign duties and post assignments and manage schedules to ensure full coverage. Monitor performance of security officers and provide training, guidance, and progressive discipline as needed. Respond to and manage security incidents, emergencies, or alarms; complete thorough incident reports. Conduct regular inspections and patrol of the campus to identify security risks and ensure compliance. Oversee the operation of surveillance systems, access control, and alarm systems. Ensure all security officers accurately and promptly maintain logs, reports, and records. Enforce Museum policies, procedures, and regulations related to safety and security. Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and internal departments as needed. Recommend and implement improvements in security procedures and protocols. Lead and participate in emergency response drills and training sessions. Promptly report security concerns or breaches to upper management. Complete all other reasonable tasks and duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a security, military, or law enforcement role required; minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and experience with security equipment and surveillance systems. CPR / First Aid and emergency response training a plus. Strong leadership and conflict-resolution skills. Strong observation and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in writing reports required. Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations. Physically fit and capable of standing or patrolling for extended periods. Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. A current and valid driver’s license is required.
