Description

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Possesses the aptitude to learn and apply new programing techniques and software to site specific systems.
  • Knowledge of alarm system requirements and have the ability to interpret code books and handbooks.
  • Must have customer relations experience and skills.
  • Field electronic practical experience required.
  • Good communication skills are necessary.
  • Conducts quality assurance on all completed work efforts
  • Must have a positive and respectful attitude and maintain good working relationships with management staff and employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Computer literacy and system specific training required.
  • AA degree in electronics or equivalent technical/ military school supplemented with 3-5 years of related industry experience preferred, but not required.
  • Communications equipment, drills and other hand tools
  • Able to operate a laptop.
  • Familiar with MS Office, system application software, etc.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Able to obtain Maryland and Virginia security technician license as required, sponsored by ARK.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs
  • Must be willing to work at heights
  • Must be able to operate electrical tools
  • Must be able to differentiate color coding of cables
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times

Responsibilities
  • Daily communication with project manager to resolve problems and discuss job status.
  • Builds a team effort.
  • Maintains accurate as-built drawings and/or schematics.
  • Completes associated paperwork in a timely, efficient manner per company requirements.
  • Performs troubleshooting and service work.
  • Terminates devices and panel wiring.
  • Programs panels and systems for proper operation per plans, specifications and code requirements.
  • Responsible for truck inventory control.
  • Communicates with ARK team members to effectively pursue company goals and criteria of installing alarm systems according to acceptable standards and practices.
  • Communicates with customer concerning the importance, operation and status of their security and electronic system. Assures customer satisfaction.
  • Conducts quality assurance.
  • Installation of system wiring as applicable
  • Other duties as assigned
