Responsibilities:
- Conducts site visits (pre-estimate) to develop a clear understanding of the project and estimate requirements
- Prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
- Performs necessary research to produce accurate, complete, and competitive pricing
- Reads and thoroughly understand blueprints, specifications, contract documents, and various systems
- Prepares estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products
- Uses originality and ingenuity to translate a wide variety of customer needs/requirements into detailed proposals and project plans
- Identifies potential project risks and develop/implement strategies to minimize the impact on estimated costs
- Verifies material pricing with vendors and manufacturers for the creation of proposals and estimates
- Reviews of all scope of work terms and conditions in customer contracts to ensure design meets any and all requirements
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Skills and requirements:
- 2+ years experience in low voltage estimating or alarm systems installation
- Access Control and Alarm Systems devices and wiring knowledge
- Strong analytical skills necessary to solve problems
- Strong understanding of residential/commercial building structures
- Able to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates
- Detail oriented
- Able to multitask and meet strict deadlines

- Writing skills - to present complex details clearly and succinctly
- A clear understanding of manufacturer equipment and how they integrate
