JOB DESCRIPTION

Alarm Max Security is seeking a technician ideally with 2 or more years of security industry field experience. If you are not in the security industry already but have a keen interest and good hand workmanship in a related trade, we are interested in speaking with you. We are looking for a person who has excellent problem-solving ability and is able to plan out installation requirements. This person must be a mature, reliable, and punctual individual. The majority of jobs are in Greater Vancouver – gas/maintenance expenses will be covered if the technician uses their own vehicle to travel to/from the job site. We work in both residential and small/large commercial spaces.
TQ license is not mandatory. We can provide training for your TQ. Due to the nature of our industry, you must not have a criminal record.
A small portion of our clients are Cantonese/Mandarin speaking only, fluent Cantonese/Mandarin speaking ability is an asset.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in the security industry
• Cantonese/Mandarin speaking ability an asset
• Must own basic hand tools required for security system installations
• Must hold valid BC Security Worker’s License (under supervision is OK)
• Must hold valid Driver’s License
• Basic knowledge of low voltage systems
• Basic networking (port forwarding, DHCP reservation, DDNS, etc.) knowledge an asset

• Security system installation, servicing, and troubleshooting – this includes alarm systems, CCTV, card access, ULC fire communicators, etc.
• Reviewing work orders/job details ahead of time and preparing equipment for jobs
• Performing site surveys and planning best installation locations of devices
• Maintaining installation notes and records, including wire lists
• Maintaining a friendly relationship with General Contractors and other site supervisors
• Basic maintenance of company vehicles if using them (filling tire air, checking oil)
• Representing Alarm Max Security in a professional manner, as you will be the face-to-face point of contact with customers when you are at their premises
