JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Systems Technician to join our team. This is a technical field role, not a security guard position. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of electronic security systems, with a proven ability to lead projects and collaborate with teams. Responsibilities include working on commercial access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV/video surveillance systems, with a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship and outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Skills:
- Install, configure, and service commercial electronic security systems, including access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV/video surveillance systems (including controllers, panels, readers, sensors, cameras, NVRs/DVRs, and related infrastructure)
- Terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling for security devices (Cat 6/6A, composite, shielded, etc.)
- Program and commission access control panels, card readers, electronic door hardware, and related software platforms
- Program and commission intrusion detection panels, sensors, keypads, communicators, and reporting devices
- Install, aim, and configure analog and IP cameras, as well as VMS and recording platforms
- Read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, floor plans, riser diagrams, and system schematics
- Perform system upgrades, retrofits, and service calls, including troubleshooting and repair of security equipment
- Conduct site surveys and validate scope for new and retrofit projects
- Document work performed (as-builts, redlines, device schedules, daily and close-out reports)
- Pull, dress, label, and secure security system cabling to industry and ACCI standards
- Design and build pathways and support structures for security cabling and devices
- Lead and mentor junior security technicians; coordinate and supervise small teams as needed on technical tasks and project execution
- Work independently or as part of a team to complete projects on time
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other trades to ensure smooth project delivery
- Maintain safety protocols and promote a safe work environment
- Organize and manage time across multiple jobs or service calls
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good condition
- This is a hands-on, field-based technical role—not a security guard or monitoring position
- Physical ability to work on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces; able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willingness to travel to job sites as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further technical/security training preferred

- Proven leadership skills and ability to manage small teams
- Strong problem-solving skills; proficiency in reading blueprints, risers, and system diagrams
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
